Even if you feel a memorial is past the point of no repair or too old to restore, chances are it can be made to look like new. It's the most disheartening sight for family members to turn up to a headstone or memorial that has been damaged by vandalism or by the weather. Similarly time and being exposed to the elements means that your loved one's place of rest no longer looks how it used to. In this situation, we can arrange a site visit to assess what can be done.

The process of bringing the memorial back to life would usually involve the temporary removal of the installation back to our workshop. Here it will be secure whilst work is in progress.  The stone will be chemically cleaned or rubbed back to new depending on the material and any damage will be repaired. It will be drilled and dowelled to pass memorial health and safety regulations. Next we will repaint or re-guild  the lettering before transporting the memorial back to site where it will be re-fixed to the grave with new foundations to National Association of Monumental Masons (NAMM) standards. New chippings will be added where required as well as new centre plaques with an additional inscription if this has been chosen (like the image above). Lastly, we'll tidy around the grave and leave looking as close to the way it did when it was originally installed.

Our team understand what the memorial means to you and your family and take great care to work with you to ensure you are happy with the result. Why not call our office today to discuss your requirements on 0113 281 7577
